I started fitness instruction 27 years ago, so have quite a few years of experience and knowledge!  I still teach with the same passion that I had when I initially entered the profession and I try to pass on that experience and enthusiasm to my staff and members.  I also have 15 years’ experience of teaching Pilates which was something I become interested in after working with a  physiotherapist and subsequently  took the Body Control Pilates course and have seen the positive results of Pilates ever since.

Alongside the years of experience, I also have a firm academic foundation, obtaining a degree in Sports and Exercise science, as well as a variety of courses, ranging from nutrition to teaching and assessing qualifications, which allow me to run regular training courses for instructors.

I am not really into the macho and body beautiful side of the fitness industry but more into doing the right things correctly and consistently, in a more relaxed, social and non-competitive way. I have a passion for correct technique and exercising in a way that will achieve results not injury and try to teach good body awareness rather that how much weight you can lift.

My goal for the gym has always been to create an environment which is unintimidating and where people can feel comfortable whatever shape, size, or fitness level and receive as much professional guidance and support as required.
